If I keep doing these weekly, its probably going to get tricky to showcase different artists, haha. The artisan crafts section is a relatively small one and I'd like my weekly features to showcase both a certain quality level, and to highlight varied artists. Its going to be a bit of a trick, I think. <3 - Anyway, on to another artisan crafts feature.
Anatomia sketchbook... July 2015 - alexlibris999
I keep seeing this artists work around, and it is truly incredible. The leatherwork on these pieces is absolutely gorgeous. This particular piece, intended as an art journal displays the text 'Anatomia Humani Corporis' and it features and absolutely amazing depiction of a human with their chest open displaying a hand-carved ribcage. - Imagine doing your anatomy references in artworks in a book like this. Incredible!
Renaissance Luxury Belt - Adhras
Here we have another piece of leatherwork. This time a large belt, depicting a hand tooled figure of a renaissance woman. This piece reminds me of waist clinchers in corsetry work. It was designed for a character, for a larp the artist participates in, by the look of things. I would wear this myself.
Excuse me a moment, I just need to go and put one of my corsets on~
Collage Faun Princess - pendant - Bijou-Flor
<da:thumb id="545502371"/>
Lets move away from leathercrafting, and head this selection of crafts more towards the fantasy realm. This pendant really is something special. Its sculpted out of polymer clay, and pieces like this really make me feel like I should give that medium a go! If you can create gorgeous work like this from that medium, it excites me. This piece does what it says on the tin, depicting a beautiful faun princess.
We had two leather work pieces, so why not have two lovely fantasy inspired polymer clay pendants. This one, while not as overtly fantasy, does remind me of the idea of elven groves and druids. A labradorite cab is surrounded by some gorgeous hand crafted and painted polymer clay, shaped into lovely wood, leaf and mushroom designs. <3
Gothic Gauntlet - RookandBriarDesigns
In keeping with the old-world and fantasy direction that this feature seems to have taken, here is a handmade gothic gauntlet. Now meatlwork and blacksmithing isn't an area that I know a lot about, truth be told. I have a friend who is quite invested in it, who we made vague plans a long time a go to hang out and I could learn more (I'm especially excited by the idea of learning to make copper roses!) so, to be honest my ability to assess skill levels isn't really there for this craft. When I saw this, it blew me away imagining the work involved in the process, and how highly skilled it looked - however the artist informed me that this is only the second part of his first metalworking project. Amazing!
I hope you've enjoyed this feature. If you've stumbled across this piece, are interested in the artisan crafts, and are unfamiliar with my own work, I'd also like to encourage you to check out my own gallery! Modestly is not one of my strong suits, it seems, I actually do think my artisan crafts work is something special, and hope others agree.
Have a good week,
Annalee.

Artisan Craft Photography
I'm just going to share this piece on photography for Artisan Crafts - I think photography is one of the most important aspects of work as an artisan crafter if you intend to display your work over the internet. With no ability for your audience to physically look at the thing, pick ti up, and see it in all of its 3D glory you need to make sure that the photos you are taking are displaying your work in the best way possible.
Daily Deviation!
The other day TearsofTurquoise (https://www.deviantart.com/tearsofturquoise) suggested me for a daily deviation and pinkythepink (https://www.deviantart.com/pinkythepink) chose to feature my work. I just wanted to make a little post thanking both of these people for this daily deviation. The entry that received the nomination is the piece that I am personally proudest of: My calla lily and orchid beaded cascade bouquet. A lot of work went into this beauty. As is true of all of my beaded bouquets it is made with tiny size 11/0 seed beads that are strung onto wire and then shaped into flowers and greenery and arranged to form a bouquet.
This is actually my second daily deviation, six months ago this piece, another bouquet, rece
Artisan Crafts Feature - Stunning Seed Beads
Hello everyone! First off I'd like to say I was super chuffed when I looked at my deviantart today because I have 5000 pageviews. Thanks everyone! My old account achieved 10,000 page views in 10 years. I didn't put much effort into it, but all the same achieving half of that in one year is incredible for me. <3 Also in a bit of an update I have my first bridal client, so I'm super excited. My lovely bride would like me to mix my hand beaded flowers with paper flowers and real flowers for a vintage style wedding. You'll be sure to see the pictures. <3
Anyway, for todays feature I decided to search out some lovely pieces in my medium of
Artisan Crafts feature
Hi everyone, I'm sorry that I have not written a feature for -months- the last one was in October! Gosh. Its been a little hectic over on my end of town. I'm still recovering from being unwell and I've sort of moved out of the place I was living in and I'm due for another move very soon. We get the keys to out new place on the 29th and will be packing things from both houses over the Christmas period. Exciting. Since I last made a post I also went to a physical artists showcase and I'd be very keen to do more of that next year! Here's a photo of my setup:
Anyway, while I cannot promise any sort of regular feature schedule its been a long tim
